The remittance inflows to Nepal have reached Rs 1327.51 billion in the last 11 months. This marks a 19.3 percent increase from the same period last year, according to the Macroeconomic and Financial Situation report published by Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) on Wednesday. Last year, the increase was 22.7 percent for the same period.
According to NRB, remittance inflows in US dollars increased by 17.3 percent to USD 9.98 billion. The increase was 13 percent last year.
Meanwhile, the number of Nepali workers going abroad for foreign employment has decreased compared to last year.
The report states that 422,936 Nepali workers received first-time approval for foreign employment in the last 11 months, while 262,705 received approval for re-entry. Last year, the numbers were 459,415 and 260,262, respectively.
