KATHMANDU, August 25

Samsung Electronics Global President and CFO HK Park paid a courtesy visit to Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on Wednesday during his official visit to Nepal.

Park, accompanied by a delegation of other senior executives, during the meeting informed Deuba about the initiatives taken by Samsung in the areas of electronics manufacturing, retail and job creation.

He also reiterated Samsung's commitment to the welfare of the community, especially the Nepali youth, through future initiatives.

Samsung, along with its local partner HIM Electronics (Golchha Group), has announced the setting up of a factory in Nawalparasi to manufacture LED televisions.

The company shares their confidence that the new factory will foster electronics manufacturing in Nepal and help the government's objective of boosting local production capabilities and employment generation.

Samsung has been in Nepal for over two decades. Its major product line, in Nepal, includes smartphones and consumer electronics products such as televisions, refrigerators, washing machines and microwaves.
