KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 2

Standard Chartered was the title sponsor of the first 'Business Women Summit and Awards' (BWSA) organised by New Business Age on 29th of January 2021.

Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel presided the event which saw participation of a number of dignitaries including representatives of the Nepal government, FNCCI, FWEAN, SEBON, CNI and other professionals from the diplomatic and business community, as per a media release.

The first session of the event was a lively panel discussion on the theme 'Promoting Women Entrepreneurship: Policies and Practices' followed by an award ceremony to felicitate and recognise 12 women entrepreneurs representing all provinces of the country.

Through a video message, Chairperson of Standard Chartered Bank Nepal (SCBN) Zarin Daruwala highlighted the policy of the bank to increase investment in women and to increase the number of women in the bank as well as in upper echelons of the corporate world.

Chief Executive Officer of SCBN, Anirvan Ghosh Dastidar said the participation of the bank as the title sponsor in the event reiterated the bank's commitment to help women entrepreneurs. The event concluded on January 30 after meeting of award winners with President Bidhya Devi Bhandari.
