The first departmental store in Pokhara, Saleways Departmental Store (SDS) has completed 12 years in service. SDS, which was opened at Chipledhunga now has a branch at Prithivichowk too.

The SDS established in 1992 with the objective of selling a wide range of consumer goods and other products, including garments and electronic products is now aiming to open the biggest electronics and home appliances showroom in Pokhara. The departmental store in Prithivichowk, which was established in 1993, is of international standard and branded products of Nike, Reebok and Adidas are being sold from here. Similarly varieties of ladies cosmetics, gents and ladies garments, shoes and sandals, kitchenware, sports goods and electronic items could also be found at affordable prices. The departmental store holds around 26,000 variety of goods.

SDS with its parking facility, restaurant and recreational centres for children within the premises of departmental store, has gained in popularity among people of Pokhara.

The SDS has been launching various kinds of prizes for its customers. This year, Saleways Departmental Store has introduced Saleways Scratch and Win Bonanza offer in which customers can win motorcycles, computers, televisions and many other items. The first store to use computer billing system in Pokhara has now digitised all its sales, using latest technologies.
