Tourism bodies protest
Kathmandu, March 19:
A joint meeting of NATTA, PATA Nepal Chapter, TAAN, HAN, NATO and BARN has condemned the manhandling of Qatar Airways staff on March 9, states a press release issued here today.
The recent episode raises serious questions on the prevalence of rule of law in our country and tarnishes the image of Nepal, adds the release. The onus rests on the government and the sate security apparatus to uphold and apply the rule of law following due process therein in a civilised manner so that business entitles can work in a better environment.
Qatar Airways is a key service provider to the Nepali travel industry and major employer of Nepali nationals both here and in the State of Qatar and it is the responsibility of government to provide them security, further adds the release.
