Kathmandu, January 23

Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Sudan Kirati has given necessary instructions to the Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) for better management of the national flag carrier.

Addressing an interaction in NAC's head office today, Minister Kirati directed the management of the corporation to properly manage online ticketing, secure luggage, actively implement ontime flight schedule, properly manage stranded aircraft and improve financial management, among others.

He said that as the people residing in the remote areas view the corporation in positive light, its services should be provided accordingly.

He further stated that he will continue to be active in the interest of the corporation and mentioned that he expects the same from the corporation's management and employees.

He also assured that he will use his qualifications, skills and experience to revive the public's trust towards the corporation and restore NAC's reputation to its former glory.

Likewise, Minister of State for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Sushila Sirpali said that the current government has started to seriously study the challenges and problems of the tourism sector whereas Tourism Secretary Suresh Adhikari requested to balance the services and commercial activities of the corporation to advance the pace of work.

Executive Chairperson of NAC Yuvraj Adhikari presented detailed information about the activities of the corporation and assured that the works will be done according to the instructions of the minister.

He informed that the corporation has revised the 10-year commercial plan (2021-30) and prepared a commercial plan (2022-31) and submitted it to the board of directors for approval.
