Tourism promo in Thailand

As part of a confidence building campaign, Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), in co-ordination with the ministry of culture, tourism and civil aviation, the Royal Nepali Embassy, Thailand and Royal Nepal Airlines Corporation (RNAC) organised a press conference and tour operators’ meet in Bangkok, yesterday.
This is the first leg of the ‘South East Asia Road-show’ covering Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia. The press conference and tour operators’ meet was organised to inform the Thai media and travel trade professionals about the improved safety and security situation in Nepal, according to a press release issued by NTB.
The speakers at the forum urged the audience to promote Nepal as a ‘safe, secure and must see’ destination for tourists ranging from adventure lovers to Buddhists visiting the birthplace of Lord Buddha.
Addressing the programme, Sharada Prasad Trital, joint-secretary, MoCTCA and Yadav Khanal, charge d’ affaires at Nepali embassy, Thailand emphasised the high-priority placed by the government on tourism industry because of its significant contribution to the economy and it being a major provider of employment.
Nandini Lahe-Thapa, director tourism marketing and promotion, NTB, highlighted the importance of the Thai market in Nepal and underlined the potential and importance of Nepal as the most appropriate destination for pilgrimage tourism in Thailand.
She also highlighted the product variance of these two countries.
