Tourists flock to Pun Hill
BENI: Tourist arrivals to Pun Hill in Shikha VDC of Myagdi have gone up after the tourist season began. The hill is located an hour’s trekking from Ghorepani. All 36 hotels in Ghorepani are occupied by local and foreign tourists.
Myagdi Hotel Association chairman Om Pun said around 250 tourists are visiting Ghorepani and Pun Hill on an average everyday. Last year, the average number was around 150, he said.
Both Ghorepani and Pun Hill lie on the Annapurna round trekking route, which is considered one of the top 10 best trekking routes across the globe.
The spots are famous for observing 16 different Himalayan ranges including Dhaulagiri, Annapurna and Nilgiri.
Pun Hill is located at an altitude of 3200 metres above sea level. Rhododendron jungles, Magar culture, and a vast range of animal and plant diversity are other attractions.
