KATHMANDU, MAY 5
Wyndham City in Victoria, Australia, and Godawari Municipality in Bagmati Province signed a formal Friendship City agreement on Monday, establishing a framework for cooperation in education, tourism, culture, environmental conservation, and economic development between the two municipalities.
The agreement was signed by Wyndham City Mayor Preet Singh and Godawari Municipality Chief Administrative Officer Man Bahadur Khadka. The partnership was facilitated through the efforts of tourism entrepreneur D.N. Ghising. The event was attended by Nepali-origin entrepreneurs, businesspeople, and community representatives.
Speakers at the signing described the agreement as an extension of the 66-year diplomatic relationship between Nepal and Australia to the local government level. Both sides expressed commitment to expanding mutual visits, cultural exchanges, and institutional cooperation.
