TQM crucial for trade

Experts and businesspersons today stressed on quality management in all organisations to sustain it in the long run, by reducing cost of production and increasing sales growth to compete with increased global competition. Secretary at the ministry of industry, commerce and supplies, Bharat Bahadur Thapa said quality management is a proven technique to guarantee survival. He was talking at a training programme on ‘Enhancing Competitiveness through Total Quality Management’ that began today and was organised by Nepal German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NGCCI), Management Association of Nepal and SES Germany. Bruce F Henderson, CEO of Rastriya Banijya Bank (RBB) said TQM means a commitment to better service delivery, employee empowerment, and fact-based decision-making and customer focus.
