Trade fair to boost local products

Industrial Trade Fair, 2060 BS commenced here from on April 11 under the aegis of Palpa Chamber of Commerce and Industry. First vice-president of Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) Chandi Raj Dhakal inaugurated the trade fair. The industry and trade fair is being organised with the objective of promoting economic, cultural and tourism sectors of the district as well as providing further support for development of local and national industries. Addressing the function, vice-president Dhakal said this kind of a trade and industrial fair would go a long way in promoting domestic products in the international market.

Central member of FNCCI and co-ordinator of the trade fair A G Sherpa expressed confidence that local products like Dhaka handloom and brassware would get access to international market if cottage industries related to these products were promoted and expanded further.

At the inaugural function, presided over by chairman of Palpa Chamber of Commerce and Industry Hari Rayamajhi, chairman of Palpa DDC Dul Bahadur Kunwar, deputy mayor of Tansen municipality, Rewanta Bahadur Bishta, assistant CDO, Deviram Bhandari, former MP Yadav Bahadur Rayamajhi, district chairman of the Federation of Nepalese Journalists (FNJ), Jhapendra Gahire and others also spoke.
