KATHMANDU, MARCH 8
A new virtual reality (VR)-based helicopter safety training initiative has been launched in Nepal to improve pilot preparedness and reduce aviation accidents.
The programme is being implemented by Loft Dynamics in partnership with European Union Aviation Safety Agency and Airbus Helicopters.
The month-long programme in Kathmandu will use a Loft Dynamics H125 VR flight simulator along with specialised training modules developed by Airbus Helicopters in line with International Civil Aviation Organization standards.
Under the initiative, helicopter pilots in Nepal will undergo four hours of simulator-based training focused on mountain flying and emergency procedures.
The training forms part of the EU–South Asia Aviation Partnership Project, which aims to strengthen aviation safety and regulatory cooperation across the region.
