Workshop on poultry health organised

Kathmandu, November 20

The two-day poultry health workshop on the impact of poultry health in Nepal's livelihood concluded in the Capital today. The event was organised jointly by Centre for Molecular Dynamics Nepal and Intrepid Nepal with support from Nepal Agriculture Research Council, Department of Livestock Services, Nepal Poultry Federation, Biovac Nepal, Manushi Nepal and One to Watch.

Issuing a press statement, organisers said that the first day of the workshop aimed at not only identifying the challenges in policies, market, logistics, health, and research work from poultry farmers and vet practitioners but also in providing recommendations to overcome these challenges to all stakeholders and government policymakers. The workshop shed light on the present ground scenario of poultry farming and also provided possible solutions from experts in the field.

Similarly, the second day of the conference featured experts from within the country and abroad to inform and raise awareness on the kind of work and scientific research taking place to end the current difficulties in poultry farming and the health sector.

Participants at the event said that the workshop will help to support long-term poultry farming industry, an emerging income-generating sector in Nepal capturing critical health perspectives as well.
