KATHMANDU: A team from the World Bank on Friday called on Ministry of Agricultural Development (MoAD) Secretary Uttam Kumar Bhattarai.

The delegation led by Patrick Verissimo, Chief of the mission deployed in Nepal to facilitate the Project for Agriculture Commercialisation and Trade (PACT) under the Ministry, held the meeting with Bhattarai at the Ministry in Singhadurbar today.

PACT said the discussions were focused on making the Project more effective.

PACT is a World Bank-funded project, run by the MoAD, since 2009.

Senior officials of the Ministry were present on the occasion.

Earlier, on Thursday, the delegation had held a meeting with a National Planning Commission member Bharatendu Mishra.

It visited various sub-projects run under PACT in Kathmandu and Kavre districts on Sunday and Monday.

The team, which arrived in Kathmandu on September 27, is scheduled to return on Saturday.
