KATHMANDU, JULY 23

Nepal's coronavirus caseload reached 676,708 on Friday with 1,982 more people testing positive for the infection in the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 639,368 with 1,678 discharges logged today. On the other hand, the countrywide Covid-19 mortality toll increased to 9,679 with 18 more fatalities.

As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, 17,308 total tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 13,698 were PCR tests while 3,610 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 3,517889 PCR tests have been carried out till date.

Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 995 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests amount to 2,977.

Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 94.5 %, while the fatality rate stands at 1.5%.

The country's active Covid-19 case count currently is 27,661.

The capital recorded as many as 410 infections today while Lalitpur and Bhaktapur recorded 134 and 69 respectively.

So far, a total of 4,661,963 people has received coronavirus vaccine across the country, of which 3,349,951 have received the first dose while only 1,312,012 individuals have been inoculated with both the doses and are fully vaccinated.

Currently, there are 335 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

On Thursday, Nepal's coronavirus case count had reached 674,726 with 1,855 more people testing positive for the infection.

Globally, over 192 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 4.1 million people have lost their lives to the disease.

Likewise, over 175 million people have recovered while more than 13 million cases are still active.
