Nepal on Saturday reported 79 new cases of coronavirus infection from across the country. With this, the nationwide infection count has advanced to 275,829.

In the last 24 hours, 42 cases surfaced in Kathmandu district, Lalitpur reported 15 cases, while one new case was reported from Bhaktapur.

Likewise, 82 people who were earlier infected with the virus are reported to have recovered in the past 24 hours as per the latest data provided by health ministry. As of today, 271,815 individuals have recovered from the novel coronavirus infection. The recovery rate, as such, is 98.5 per cent.

Nepal's active Covid-19 case count currently stands at 998.

The nationwide death-toll stands at 3,016. No Covid-related fatality was reported today.

According to the health ministry, 2,637 PCR tests were conducted in the last 24 hours. With this, a total of 2,233,345 PCR tests have been carried out in Nepal till date.

Currently, there are 47 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

On Friday, Nepal's coronavirus case count reached 275,750 with 125 newly confirmed cases.

Globally, over 122 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 2.7 million people have lost their lives to Covid-19. Likewise, over 99 million people have recovered from the disease while more than 21 million cases are still active.
