Learning to stay positive

KATHMANDU: In order to motivate students to change their attitude in a positive way, Prime College, Khusibun recently conducted a two-day workshop on ‘Positive Attitude: A Ladder of Success’.

In the event held on the college premises for the students, Naresh Shrestha, Principal of the College talked about the importance of positive attitude.

The participants of the workshop — students of Class XII — learnt that attitude is the outcome of one’s state of mind. It is indispensable for one’s success in life. In order to achieve success, people should learn to understand their attitude and its impact on their work performance, relationships and people around them.

Attitude, literally is everything. It governs the way you perceive the world and the way the world perceives you. A positive attitude puts you in control of yourself. It is like a magnet for positive results. Positive attitude plays a tremendous role in one’s life. It includes positive thoughts, positive words, and positive actions.

In the workshop, Shrestha also talked about the power of attitude. He shared, how a positive attitude helps us overcome our failure. Being positive about failure, we can learn life’s lesson to do better next time. So, the real challenge is to maintain a positive attitude when all is not right.

Shrestha also urged them to look at the sunny side of everything. He advised the students to spend time improving themselves so that they have no time to criticise others. One should be capable of counting his blessings, not his troubles, he added.

The workshop was interactive and influential.
