KATHMANDU:

The World Environment Day is observed on June 5, and the staff of Hotel de l’Annapurna took it upon themselves to do something meaningful on this day.

So at 6:30 am around 60 of the hotel staff made their way to Teen Dhara temple (Durbar Marg) to give this neglected piece of heritage a facelift.

The temple was built in 1884, but instead of protecting this heritage the locals around had indiscriminately dumped garbage around the site. The temple keeper had complained that despite repeated requests not to do so, the people had kept at it.

The place has been cleaned and the hotel staff have made a commitment to maintain it.
