The American Chamber of Commerce in Nepal (AmCham Nepal), in partnership with Cross River Bank, has hosted a high-level leadership dialogue aimed at strengthening commercial ties between Nepal and the United States and exploring opportunities in financial innovation and investment.
The event, titled "Nepal, Global Capital and the Future of Financial Innovation," brought together senior representatives from Nepal's banking, finance, fintech, insurance, private equity and business sectors to discuss strategies for expanding the US-Nepal commercial corridor.
Opening the programme, AmCham Nepal Vice Chair Akash Golchha said the chamber is committed to positioning Nepal as an attractive investment destination by supporting existing US investors while creating opportunities for new American businesses.
He said AmCham Nepal would continue advocating for an improved investment climate through policy dialogue, stronger commercial engagement and closer economic cooperation between the two countries.
Representing Cross River Bank, Executive Vice President Pravesh Rijal described the visit as the beginning of a long-term partnership with Nepal. Henry Pennel, Co-Head of Investments at the US-based bank, commended Nepal's financial sector leadership and its willingness to collaborate internationally.
Katherine Leahy, Economic Chief at the US Embassy in Kathmandu, also highlighted the importance of expanding bilateral commercial engagement between the United States and Nepal.
The discussion was moderated by AmCham Nepal Executive Director Amir Thapa, who outlined the chamber's broader commercial diplomacy initiatives, including engagement with the SelectUSA Investment Summit, outreach to the Nepali diaspora and the Diaspora Investment Portal.
Concluding the event, AmCham Nepal reiterated its commitment to translating dialogue into concrete partnerships, encouraging greater US investment and promoting long-term economic cooperation between the two countries.
Cross River Bank, headquartered in Fort Lee, New Jersey, is a technology-driven financial institution that provides regulated banking infrastructure for fintech companies, while AmCham Nepal works to promote trade, investment and commercial relations between Nepal and the United States.
