A laugh riot

Kathmandu

Fun-filled comedy, appealing cinematography, and actors’ good performance in How Funny hold the audience’ attention throughout the film, also making them laugh out loud.

A renowned businessman’s daughter Heera (Nisha Adhikari) disappears. Tej Bahadur Rai (Dayahang Rai), in-charge of Central Bureau of Investigation is deployed to find out the whereabouts of Heera. In the meantime, Rai recruits two spies — Ramita (Priyanka Karki) and Pushpa (Keki Adhikari) — to solve the mystery case. Will the spies ever find the whereabouts of Heera? What problems do they face during the investigation? One needs to watch the movie till the end, and you won’t regret it.

The USP of How Funny is humour. This comedy film is a laugh riot and guarantees you a good time. Hats off to the director Nilu Doma Sherpa who has beautifully woven a detective story, and without overdoing the comedy.

Suspense has been kept intact until it has to be revealed. But when it does, it is little disappointing. The film also lacks proper editing that prevents How Funny from being a good piece of work.

Nonetheless, the characters of the film and their acting make it up to you. Antics of Karki and Keki in solving the mystery case make one belly laugh. Karki, be as a spy or while dancing, has performed her parts with conviction. The duo have portrayed the bond of friendship quite well. Their characters searching for clues and punchlines in the film make you laugh and smile. In addition, Rai as in-charge of the investigation bureau — acting as a slow speaking officer makes you laugh. His looks and oratory skills are comical too.

Besides that, the colour combination of items in different scenes — such as of bed sheets, and of characters’ dresses — is brilliant and this also enhances your film watching experience.

As for the music of the film, the title track How Funny, and Mai Naachu Chhamchhami are pleasing to the

ears and the songs fit in the scenes perfectly.
