KATHMANDU, JANUARY 2

The Election Commission (EC) has invited applications from service providers to transport essential materials for the March 5 House of Representatives elections.

According to the EC, election materials will be transported using helicopters, trucks, containers and courier services. Firms and companies operating in these sectors have been asked to apply for enlistment after meeting the required criteria.

Applicants must submit copies of their operating licence, VAT registration, tax clearance certificate up to fiscal year 2081/82, and turnover details for the past three fiscal years.

The EC has set minimum average annual turnover requirements of Rs 30 million for helicopter rental services, Rs 10 million for truck and container services, and Rs 3 million for courier services.

Companies applying for courier services must also provide details of their offices and representatives in all 77 districts, including contact numbers.

The Commission clarified that applications submitted under more than one service category will not be processed, and stated that it reserves the right to make the final decision on enlistment.
