Adele’s Skyfall best 007 theme tune
LONDON: British singer Adele’s Oscar-winning song Skyfall has trounced Sam Smith’s Writing’s on the wall to be voted fans’ favourite James Bond theme tune.
The pop star scored a huge hit with the title track from 2012 movie Skyfall, winning her an Oscar, a Golden Globe and a BRIT Award. Smith became the latest artiste to take on the job of recording a Bond theme, providing Writing’s on the Wall for this year’s spy adventure Spectre, but it has failed to match the popularity of Adele’s song in a public vote.
Skyfall topped the poll, put together by bosses at Britain’s ITV network to find Britain’s best-loved Bond theme, followed by Paul MCCartney and Wings’ Live and Let Die at number two.
Shirley Bassey claimed the third and fourth spot with her two 007 hits Goldfinger and Diamonds are Forever respectively, and Smith’s track rounded out the top five.
