‘Honesty is important’
Why did you choose this career?
Initially it was my father’s choice. He wanted me to become doctor and serve the nation. I actually wanted to join the army but then I realised that both the profession ended in the same road. So I decided to study medicine. My parents were a great support to me. This is how I chose to be a doctor and serve people.
What are your strengths as professional?
I believe a lot in honesty so I feel that is my greatest strength as a professional. Honesty and integrity are two important things that make me who I am today.
What are your career goals?
The main target for a doctor should always be to serve mankind and I believe a lot in that. Since I am in Nepal, I want to do something beautiful for the people here. I want to give the best of myself to my patients and always be there for them.
Word of advice to young aspirants…
I feel it’s easy to get swayed away but a doctor must always remember his ethics. He should be honest to his profession. You should study real hard and have fun at the same time but not at the cost of the patients.
What makes a good doctor?
A good doctor is one who treats his patients with utmost respect and is available to them always. He should be humane and listen and understand their problems well.
He should be gentle and have a pleasing personality that patients
get all right just by a smile or a sympathetic word from him. A good doctor should never hesitate to ask another doctor if he does not have an idea on because a person’s life depends upon him.
