Kathmandu:

Ranjana Cassette Centre organised a programme on the occasion of the release of two new albums — ‘Geet Ek Akchharko’ and ‘Ghar Ta Paschim Ho’. The event took place on May 16 at Rajgharana Restaurant, Kamladi. The songs in the album ‘Geet Ek Akchharko’ are written by Keshav Krishna Dhakal, also known in music field as Dhakal Bhai . The songs are sung by Phurba Sherpa. As the name suggests, the album is said to be unique and arguably the first attempt ever by a lyricist to pen down a song with the same letter. Dhakal, lyricist of the songs, said, “Since it is a one of a kind attempt, I am trying to get this work registered in the Guinness Book of World Records. I have already received the preliminary response. I am still waiting for the confirmation from the organisation.” The album comprises nine songs. Another album that was released on the occasion was ‘Ghar Ta Paschim Ho’ — a collection of Lok Dohori songs. The voice in this album is rendered by Prakash Soni, Bhima Kumari Dura and Shila Ale. Soni has been involved in the promotion of folk songs since his childhood and this is his third album. The organisers gave a different touch to the programme by requesting two journalists — Dabbu Chhetri and Rajan Ghimire — to release the albums. Bhagwan Shrestha, presided over the programme as chief guest.
