All the best!
Kathmandu:
They all share a dream. They are all walking towards one destination. They all want to be the one who is crowned Dabur Vatika Miss Nepal 2007 when the stage is lit (barring the protests) and the winner is picked on April 7.
For the nineteen girls, who are at present attending a closed camp in preparation for the big day, this could be the one journey that could launch their careers to the stars. As such, they are giving it their all.
In the talent round, they showed that they are not just some decorative item to be put up on display behind glass doors of a show case. Be it reciting poetry that they penned or singing some haunting tunes or executing some complicated dance number or taekwondo demonstration or mind soothing yoga aasans, the girls have shown that they mean business. And that they are in the race to win.
One got to see their softer sides on their visits to Maiti Nepal and Bal Mandir, while they displayed their interest in conservation efforts during their WWF tour.
Miss Nepal will walk away with a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh and will get a Kinetic Nova as her official ride. She will also have the enormous responsibility of representing Nepal in the Miss World pageant. The first runner-up will win a cash prize of Rs 50,000 and go on to participate in Miss Earth pageant, while the second runner-up will win Rs 25,000 and take part in the Miss Asia Pacific pageant.
The girls will also be vying for a number of side titles, which carry a cash prize of Rs 10,000 each.
For the first time this year, the public can also take part in the pageant actively by exercising their right to vote for Dabur Vatika My Choice award. All that one has to do is type DVMC
Dabur Vatika is the main sponsor of the pageant, which is managed by Hidden Treasure in association with JCI. The finale, to be held at Birendra International Convention Centre on April 7, will be aired live on Nepal Television from 4:30 pm.
And yes, may the best girl win.
