An artist’s journey

KATHMANDU: Her artistic journey is the focus of Pramila Bajracharya’s exhibition titled ‘Yatra’ (journey) going on at The Art Shop.

The exhibition, which opened on January 30, has around 26 pieces of creations that spell Bajracharya’s take on nature and the life that she has experienced.

Done more in an abstract forms, the canvases are filled with patches of colours that form various structures. Alleys with typical Nepali style houses and landscapes are the dominant subjects of her creations. Her alleys and landscapes are bare with no signs of living bodies. Her canvases are more of a riot of colours.

Although one can see various colours in one canvas, there is one colour that dominates with its presence in abundance. She has used more of bright hues like vibrant yellow, grass green and blood red. Done with oil and acrylic the overlapping of colours have brought out some texture.

The exhibition is on till February 13.
