Animal stories: Burmese cats

Burmese cats are medium sized cats with elegant yet well-muscled body. These breeds are domesticated cats and have a soft meow. They have short, shiny hair. Their head is rounded and the eyes are large and lustrous of golden colour. The eye colour varies in tint from golden to green. The nose is small, giving these breeds a sweet expression. The ears are set well apart with a rounded dome between and are broad at the based with a rounded tip. The legs are slim and the paws are neat and oval in shape. The tail is straight and ends in a rounded paintbrush tip.

Burmese cats are entertaining, playful and super-smart to be the perfect cats for home, office or shops. They are extremely affectionate companion and needs attention from human beings to be happy.

They are very demanding and will follow you around the house crying for attention. These cats do not like to be left alone. With their ability to retrieve are sometimes known as the ‘dog cat’. They are very vocal cats and will often greet their owner when they return home or let them know when they want something. They get along well with children and so make wonderful family pets.

Coat colour:

The original coat colour of Burmese cat is chocolate-brown. But colours like sable, champagne, blue and platinum are also accepted.

Temperament:

There is a difference in nature of male and female Burmese cats. The females are highly curious, active, and very emotionally involved with their owners. Whereas the male cats love their humans too, but are more placid. They take life as it comes. The only issue about which they are passionately concerned is the food and when it will be served.

Lifespan:

They have a lifespan of about 15 years.

Pet grooming:

Burmese cats do not require excessive grooming. They take care of this themselves. But they will enjoy the attention that comes with brushing.
