Ash has lost her appeal: Sonam

BOLLYWOOD: Has Aishwarya Rai grown too old to appeal to the younger generation any more?

Actress Sonam Kapoor, who is the cosmetic product company L'Oreal new Indian brand ambassador, is of the view that Aishwary Rai Bachchan can't represent the generation next now.

While attending a star studded party thrown by L O'real in Mumbai, the Delhi-6 girl spoke her heart out on brand endorsement and replacing Ash who was the international face of a whole range of L'Oreal products.

Now reportedly Ash will only be seen on anti wrinkle and anti aging products while Sonam will endorse products, which will target young audience. When Sonam was asked why the company roped her in replacing Aishwarya, the doe-eyed beauty replied, "I think we belong to two different generations and that's why L'Oreal has asked me to be a part of their brand." She was quite candid about the fact that Ash doesn't appeal to the youngsters anymore.

At the same time the young Bollywood actress was all admiration for Ash and said that the level of success that Ash has achieved is very difficult for her to even think of at this age.

Sonam said that she felt honored to be the same brand platform that Aishwarya did. The tall, slim actress said, "I am glad to be an ambassador for the brand that Aishwarya is also associated with. I will never reach that level of success at which Aishwarya is today but being part of the same brand family feels great."

Showering praises on Aishwarya, the actress continued, "She is an extremely beautiful woman and I have always looked up to her. Both of us have worked with Sanjay Leela Bhansali. I feel fortunate that I had the opportunity to work with her husband Abhishek in Delhi-6. She is an absolute success and I would be happy if my career gets even ten percent of what she has achieved."

Well that's some ambition indeed!

Sonam debuted with Bhansali's Saawariya and was last seen with Abhishek Bachchan in Rakeysh Om Prakash Mehra's Delhi-6.
