Balancing act
From running her organisation Promoters Nepal to taking care of her house, former Miss Nepal Usha Khadgi has found a perfect balance in her professional and personal life. After hectic weekdays Khadgi makes a point to spend time with her daughter on weekends.
KATHMANDU: Since we both are very busy during the weekdays we give more time to our daughter on weekends. We go to places where she enjoys, like the zoo or take her out for dinner. We generally go to Nanglo or Food court at Bluebird Mall. I really like the sizzler at
Nanglo while my daughter prefers the baby platter they have.
Other than this socialising also forms a major part of our weekend. We often visit our relatives or have get-togethers with friends on Friday nights. At times I also meet up with other former Miss Nepals and have a great time catching up with what’s happening in each other’s lives.
I am also a very enthusiastic cook and I make new dishes at home. I just enjoy trying out something new when I put on my Chef’s hat. Although I work on Sundays I go late to the office, as it’s my own organisation I can afford to do that.
I believe that one should go for a romantic vacation with their spouse to bring in freshness in married life. You need a fresh change to keep the romance alive.
I would really like to go to Goa for a second honeymoon. Right now my daughter is very young so maybe in the next couple of years we can plan out something. Even my friends have been telling me that I should visit Goa as it is a marvellous place.
In Nepal I like to visit Pokhara, as it is a perfect place to spend weekends, as the weather is favourable plus I love the Thakali food and also the shopping there is great. My husband and
I usually want to have a fun weekend but at times we get in little fights, which ruins the whole mood.
