Book Review : Royal property details
Kathmandu:
Though the monarchy in the country is in trouble, people are eager to know about the property and expenditure of the monarchy as they have heard tales about a lot of expenditure.
Though people can flatly say that the royal family members have a lot of money, they cannot exactly say how much. If people want to know the details, s/he can pick up Rajatantrako Artha Rajaneeti written by journalist Surya Thapa.
Many people do not know even the exact area of Narayanhiti palace. After the Parliamentary Natural Resources Committee’s investigation, everyone now knows that Narayanhiti palace occupies ropani (754-8-1-3) land. Across the country about 1,00,000 ropanies of land (with 64,000 ropanis of personal and rest of the others of Guthi lands) have been registered in the name of the royal palace.
Not only that but all the information gathered by the parliamentary committee can be found in the book. The book contains property details but it does not give exact details of the cash and ornaments. It has failed to collect the details of the shares in several business groups and other interesting issues. Though the book has information and compiled details, it lacks a thorough information on several other issues.
