Celebrate Lhochar at Nagarkot
KATHMANDU:
Lhochar, the new year of Tamangs, Sherpas and the Tibetan community in Nepal which falls on January 27, will be celebrated with much fanfare in Nagarkot this year.
The first ever Nagarkot Naldum Lhochar Mahotsav 2065 is being organised at Nagarkot from January 26 to 28. This was informed at a press meet organised at the Nepal Tourism Board on by Nagarkot Naldum Tourism Development Committee on January 20.
The programme promises a variety of events from entertainment to getting a glimpse of the lifestyle and culture of the Tamangs.
The three-day programme includes song and dance for all age groups from lok
dohori to performances by popular singers like Nima Rumba, Deepak Bajracharya, and other well known singers like Chandra Kumar Dong, Tulsa Waiya performing on different days.
For the adventurous kind, you can join the bike rally or nature walks.
And be sure to be present at the special Lhochar puja.
No celebration is complete without food, so you will get a chance to taste a number of delicacies especially typical dishes to be prepared especially for the Mahotsav.
