Celebrity’s soulmate

They were learning dance when beautiful Manju met the dashing actor Dilip Rayamajhi. “He was very talkative and friendly but there was no such spark,” admits Manju. Later she came to know that the actor always had a soft corner for her. After dating for a year he decided to get married but Manju’s family did not agree, as they were very young, Manju was just 16 and he was 18. Rayamajhi’s family had already met her and accepted her as daughter-in-law. “One day his mom just told him to bring me home, she felt if he could not do it at that time, then he would never be able to, so that day we eloped and got married at the small temple in his house,” she adds. It’s been 12 years and they have an 11 year old daughter. Soon after marriage he was offered his first role in a movie and he became a successful romantic actor in a short period of time. “Being a successful actor that too with a huge fan following brings trouble with the rumours of link ups,” she says. Initially they used to fight a lot when such stories surfaced, “I was very young and did not know how to handle such stories but now I just laugh it off,” she adds. She also complains that the glamour job is very demanding and feels bad to see him work around the clock. According to Manju he pays a lot of attention to their needs and tries his best to give them his time. “Whenever we fight he is the one who comes forward to make up with flowers and gifts, he knows my choices,” she says with a radiant smile. She says that there is a good and a bad side of being a celebrity wife but the worst is the lack of privacy.
