Chef’s choice: Fruity treat

The festive season is also best known for ripe and sweet fruits available in the market. Executive Chef Rajendra Subedi of Shangri La Hotel shares his trick of presenting the locally available fruits in a delicious and striking way. So, take up the healthy way of living and enjoy fruits with your family and friend presented in the way as they do in five star hotels.

“This dish can be relished without any dressing or addition, but if you want to add something extra to enhance the taste, you can sprinkle some dressing over the fruits,” says Chef Subedi.

Ingredients

Fresh fruits like pears, apple, honey dew, pomegranate, papaya and water melon.

Method

• Peel the fruits and carve them according to choice.

• Arrange the fruits on a large plate or bowl.

• Add fruits like pomegranate and scooped balls of other fruits to decorate.

• Enjoy with fresh cream, whipped cream, honey or just chat masala.

For dressing

Ingredients

Pineapple juice: 1 cup

Orange juice: 1 cup

Honey: 60 ml

Khukuri rum: 15 ml

Method

Mix all the ingredients and chill for sometime and serve as a side dish, or sprinkle on the fruits as desired.
