KATHMANDU: There are so many cute and memorable pictures that are left lying in your albums. You may want to display those photos but there are no photo frames around. The good news is you can actually create beautiful frames all by yourself to store these photographs. All you need is an old frame or just a simple photo frames available in the market.

Here is how to turn them into beautiful pieces:

What you need

• Basic wood or metal frames

• Super glue

• Various decorative items like glass beads, artificial flowers

• Acrylic paints

How to

• Get a sturdy frame be it wooden or metal. You can even use old frames, with some dents or scratches.

• Now create any design you want using your choice of decorative items. You can first draw the designs using pen or pencils on the frames so that the design doesn’t get messed up.

• If you want you can also paint the frame with your favourite colour. You can either colour the whole frame, then stick decorations — or you can draw designs on the painted frame as well.

• After the drawing is done stick the embellishments as per the drawing. Superglue works best for this purpose.

• There are endless options when it comes to those decorative embellishments. From glass beads of different colours, sizes and designs to artificial flowers and foliage. There are items like buttons, self-adhesive scrapbook stickers, lace, ribbons, seashells, polished stones, or coloured aquarium gravel lying unused at your home.

All you need is a little bit of imagination and with very little expense you can turn simple and old photo frames into extraordinary works of art that will enhance your very special photos.
