Cyprus in recent years has gained popularity as an educational destination for Nepali students who wish to pursue higher education. Cyprus is well known not only for its quality education but also as a hub for good career opportunities. Cyprus has also come under the European Union since May 1.

Most universities and colleges in Cyprus offer transfer facilities to universities in the US and Europe, which serves as a major attraction to students. Till date, more than 200 Nepali students have opted to study in universities and colleges in Cyprus.

According to Orchid Educational Consultancy, more than 100 students are presently pursuing their higher education in Hotel Management — for which the universities in Cyprus are well known around the world.

Orchid Educational Consultancy was established in 2001 and till 2004, more than 100 students have flown to Cyprus through this organisation for higher studies. Orchid also has been inviting the representatives from different universities and colleges time and again to interact with students and parents.

On May 8 and 9, representatives from the College of Tourism and Hotel Management in Cyprus will visit Kathmandu to give a presentation on the college.
