Kathmandu:

Dating has replaced oldfashioned courtship among the youth of Kathmandu today. And to add more gusto and zest to the practice of this new activity, 1905 Kantipath have come up with a new and unique idea to draw together people from all walks of life. “Speed dating,” as they call it, is already a very popular concept in Europe and the USA and is coming to Nepal for the very first time. The event will be inviting 10 girls and 10 boys, giving them a platform to meet and know each other. “Our objective is to accumulate young professionals from all working sectors since otherwise they hardly get the time or the opportunity to meet people other than their own social circle,” said Pravin, resident DJ, 1905, and an organiser. This would be a continuous event and would be held twice every month with interesting gifts and prizes for participants. “The event would be held in a highly respectable atmosphere and would be safe and fun,” added Matt Thurecht, bar and events manager, 1905. An added attraction to the event would be a special Caribbean theme Reggae House party which will include DJ Devastation Sounds all the way from California. Sanjay Dev aka DJ Devastation Sounds is considered one of the Top 50 Reggae DJs in the world and also hosts a show on radio back in the USA. He is a mathematics professor with a passion for the musical form and is returning to his hometown to revive memories of earlier days. This dynamic DJ also boasts of having one of the largest collections of reggae music in the world.
