De Niro has not plans to retire yet

LONDON: Robert De Niro revealed he plans to keep working for another 40 years while accepting a Lifetime Achievement Award at AARP’s Movies for Grownups Awards on February 16.

The 66-year-old actor was surprised to be honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award and hopes he will continue to receive more accolades in the future.

He said, “You know, I have only been doing this for about 40 years. It’s actually been longer, but what are they going to give me 40 years from now — the He Lived Too Long Award?”

Robert was also amused that the presentation of the accolade comes just days after his new movie Everybody’s Fine was received not entirely favourable reviews. He added, “Some critics suggested it was maybe time for me to retire. I’m still a kid — always a kid.
