Documentaries galore

KATHMANDU:

Did you miss watching some of the best documentaries of the region when they screened during the fifth edition of the Film South Asia (FSA) last year?

If you did, then here’s another opportunity that you possibly cannot miss.

The Himal Association is organising the Travelling Film South Asia 2006 (TFSA) at Yalamaya Kendra from July 14-16. The TFSA will feature 15 outstanding documentaries from Nepal, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, South Africa and Canada, which are a special selection from 44 films screened during FSA 2005.

The interest for documentaries has been ever increasing in this part of the world. Catering to the needs of documentary enthusiasts, Himal Association has been organising FSA and TFSA every two years since 1997.

According to the organisers, the idea behind screening these documentaries is to promote independent film making in the youth of Nepal, sharing the experiences from the productions of the region.

Tickets are priced at Rs 30. Contact Himal Association at 5542544 for details.
