Kathmandu: Universal Language and Computer Institute held a seminar on May 14 to highlight the features of Stratford College London for prospective students. Dr Sujit Prasad Shrestha, who scored 9 out of 9 in the IELTS exams, was also given a certificate and a cash prize of Rs 10,000 for the feat. Stephen Cabb, head of Business and International Development at Stratford College emphasised the benefits of University of London degrees through a presentation. The college provides good value for money by providing internationally recognised qualifications and offers diverse courses at an affordable cost. Nepali bags US national award

Louisiana: Bijaya Bahadur Karki was awarded the National Science Foundation Career Award 2004 for his study of geology through computer technology. The award carries a prize purse of about half million US dollars. Karki is currently working as an assistant lecturer at the science department of Louisiana State University. The award is the foundation’s most prestigious award for junior faculty members. Karki received his PhD in Geology from Edinburgh University of the United Kingdom. — RSS
