Film fest at Jiri
KATHMANDU: The town of Jiri will be hosting a two-day film festival on March 30 and 31, states a Nepalaya press statement. The film festival is managed and coordinated by Nepalaya, and will showcase some of the finest works in Nepali filmmaking.
Twenty films will be screened during the festival β 18 during the day in an indoor setting, and two under the open sky during the evenings making it perhaps the first open-air film festival in Nepal, states the release.
Films like Uhileko Nepal, On the road with Red God, Mukundo, Chulo, Cholo ra Banduk, among others will be screened.
βThe festival will be a multi-activity one β in addition to films, local products will be displayed and interactions on journalism and filmmaking will be held for the local youths,β the release quotes Kiran Shrestha, team leader of nepa~laya, as saying.
The festival, which is owned locally by FNJ, Dolaka, VDC, Jiri, Dolakha Chamber of Commerce and Industires, Jiri HS School and Dhungeswari LS School, will be screened at the Jiri Technical School premises.
