Celebrities are mostly noted for their talent, fashion sense, some for their tantrums and some for their social work. But that’s not all. There are times when our much loved celebrities surprise us with their other talents. Some might have sung on the Broadway and some might have made academy award winning movies, but here are some who have given the fans all around the world something to cherish, something to collect and to read. Yes, here are a few celebrities who have written good and best selling books.

Jamie Lee Curtis

We all remember her for her naïve but eager to make a difference wife in True Lies. The two Golden Globe winner, BAFTA winner and Emmy nominated actress is also an author of children’s books. She has written various children books among which, Today I Feel Silly and Other Moods That Make My Day, was listed on the New York Times best-seller list for nine weeks.

Julie Andrews

Julie Andrews has been a beloved and much-honoured star of stage, screen and television for more than half a century. She received an Academy award for Best Actress in her first film, Mary Poppins, and was nominated for her performance in The Sound of Music, one of the most successful motion pictures of all time. She is the recipient of Golden Globe, Emmy, Grammy, BAFTA, People’s Choice Award, Theatre World Award, Screen Actors Guild and Academy Award honours.

Andrews have written number of children’s books which have become best sellers. Among all she has also come up with series of Dumpy the Dump Truck and Little Bo.

Pamela Anderson

The Baywatch star who shot to fame after being featured in Playboy is known more as a sex symbol. Pamela Denise Anderson is a Canadian-born actress, sex symbol, glamour model, producer and TV personality who has turned into best selling author after the success of her novels Star and Star struck.

Nicole Richie

When it comes to Nicole Richie, the saying ‘fact is stranger than fiction’ rings true. Better known as the adopted daughter of singer Lionel Richie, Nicole went to become an actress, singer, celebrity and also an author. BFF with Paris Hilton Nicole has come up with The Truth About Diamonds: A Novel by Nicole Richie.

Everything she does is news, everything she buys is fashion and everything she touches is gold. You hate her, you love her but you can’t avoid the Paris-mania. The Hilton heiress has made news for every other thing she does and she also made name as aspiring writer through her book Confessions of an Heiress: A Tongue-in-Chic Peek Behind the Pose.

It was co-written by Merle Ginsberg, which includes full colour photographs of her and gives her advice on the life as an heiress. Some in the media panned the writing as amateurish, and the book was parodied by Robert Mundell on The Late Show with David Letterman. Nonetheless, the book became a New York Times bestseller. Hilton reportedly received a $100,000 in advanced payment for this book.

Eminem

Marshall Bruce Mathers III known as Slim Shady and his primary stage name Eminem, is a rapper, record producer, and actor. Having sold over 70 million albums worldwide, Eminem is one of the highest-selling rappers of all time. There are many books written on the rapper but he himself has written a book Angry blonde. A must read if you are a big fan of the bad boy full of attitude.

Marilyn Manson

Brian Hugh Warner, better known by his stage name Marilyn Manson, is a musician and artist known for his outrageous stage persona and image as the lead singer of the eponymous band. Manson has written an autobiography, The Long Hard Road Out of Hell. The book (written with the help of Neil Strauss of Rolling Stone Magazine), follows Manson’s life from when he was a youngster, known as Brian Warner, a child who discovers his grandfather’s sexual fetishes to the forming of Marilyn Manson to where he is now. — Compiled by Abhilasha Subba
