Flavours of jazz
Kathmandu:
After the grand opening of Nepal Jazz Jatra at two different venues the second day of the festival was organised at the Hyatt Regency on March 29. The second day gig of the three day long jazz music festival presented all the participating bands at one premise giving the music fans a treat to remember.
The audience seated themselves comfortably on the green field. The ambience set for the show was perfect as flowing drinks, squashy cushions and scrumptious food served from the live counters complimented the environment.
Various local bands and ensembles played their melodious creations and enthralled everyone present. Bands like Sphatic, Abhishek and Jigme, Inner groove, Baja Gaja, Trouble Clef, Sukarma and Jan Fadnes, 1974 AD, New Revolution and the Australian band Chris Poulsen Trio gave the distinguished flavour of jazz to the audience comprising both locals and foreigners.
The event started from 5:00 pm and lasted till mid night. Chris Poulsen Trio known not only for their energetic and gripping music but also their outstanding stage presence were the last to perform. As most of the audience had already left by then one could not help wondering why didn’t they perform earlier so all could get the taste of magnetic music. The event is being presented by Kathmandu Jazz Conservatory, Party Ne-pal and Hyatt Regency sponsored by Spey Livet, and THT is the official print media.
