It is a gala week happening at the Alliance Francaise. The Francaise with the support of the French Embassy and Club de Francophone is doing its very best to make the Ninth French Speaking and French Language Week a success.

The fact that Alliance Francaise in Kathmandu is celebrating its first decade is added reason.

The new premise is open and more spacious. Located opposite the veterinary hospital in Tripureswor, it is hard to miss. During this week, the Francaise is holding a radio quiz about the Francophone world and if you enter, you might just be lucky enough to win free classes! There is also an international competition for French speakers to test their level of French writing.

Every day, at Le Bistro, cuisine from different parts of France is served from 12 noon to 2 pm.

In the Moliere Auditorium, an exhibition maps the events the Francaise’s journey through paintings, photographs and articles.

March 18 is Normandy Day and March 19 is Alps Day. On March 19, the movie ‘L’Aigle à 2 têtes of Jean Cocteau’ will be screened. On March 20, Francophonie Day, the finals of the badminton and petanque competition will be held.

A sale of cakes will be organised all day long. A show by French speakers will be followed by dinner.
