Friends on big screen?

NEW YORK:

The successful adaptation of hit TV series Sex and the City on big screen has reportedly inspired Jennifer Aniston and Courtney Cox to turn their show Friends into a movie. After Friends came to an end in 2004 following a 10-year run, rumours of a reunion have repeatedly been denied by Cox, Aniston, Matthew Perry, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc and Lisa Kudrow. But now it appears the stars may be ready to return to cash in on the sitcom’s popularity following the success of Sex and the City, hollywood.com reports.

A source said, “Aniston, Cox and the rest of the cast are keen to reprise their roles, under the right circumstances. The box office success of Sex and the City has really got their wheels spinning about how a Friends film could be just as big, if done right. Jennifer says she and Courtney have already talked this summer about what they want out of a Friends movie. Sex and the City, which stars Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall, has grossed more than $300 million worldwide thus far since its release in May.
