Fun filled fantasy world

Kathmandu:

Running around to meet and talk to Spiderman and Hulk, jumping on the huge inflated flower and the bouncy castle, children at the Mayos Cartoon Carnival were busy having a blast. From people wearing costumes of different cartoon characters and superheroes to Santa Claus, from clowns to magicians the premises of BICC looked like a fantasy world on January 5.

Most of the children were either roaming around the people in costumes to click photographs with their favourite characters or queuing up to get their face painted. And it was not just children who were having a ball out there, even parents were enjoying along with their children. Some even took a chance to get their own pictures taken with Spiderman.

The magic show seemed to be a hit among people of all age groups as a huge crowd could be seen around the magician. Even Goofy couldn’t resist the charm of the magician and stood among the crowd to witness the disappearing of a handkerchief.

The carnival also had a variety of cuisines, which were being relished by everyone. Six year old, Trisha Pradhan with a bird painted on her face said, “I like the ice-cream out here,” as she enjoyed her ice-cream while sitting next to the huge fountain with her father. While Anjali Dhakwa who had come with her daughter said she was highly impressed by the whole decoration of the place and especially the huge pink flower.

Photo Concern’s stall with the whole Christmas set up was filled with children as well as adults who wanted to get a photo with Santa Claus.

Organised by Applaud Event and Promotion the carnival is sponsored by Mayos and co-sponsored by Photo Concern, Lewis Berger and Pepsi. The official hotel for the event is Shangri- la Hotel and Resorts and the official bank is Sunrise Bank Limited.
