Fun-loving Vidya

MUMBAI:

It wasn’t easy going from the madness of Sajid Khan’s Heyy Babyy to the mystique of Priy-adarshan’s Bhool Bhulaiya, but for versatile Vidya Balan it was a challenge she loved.

Vidya feels Heyy Babyy will show her in a new light. “I’ve never done a film where I could let my hair down. I did enjoy being the serious thinking actress in Parineeta, the investigative journalist in Salaam-e-Ishq and the socially aware radio jockey in Lage Raho....” But somewhere deep down, Vidya was getting somewhat alarmed by her cerebral image.

“I’m a fun-loving girl who cracks and laughs at jokes with equal enthusiasm. Sajid Khan’s Heyy Babyy is a first of its kind for me. So far I hadn’t done an out-and-out commercial film. It’s a fun film. It has all the elements of a mainstream Hindi film.
