KATHMANDU: A press meet and launch of a short film competition was held by The Nepal Social Marketing and Franchise Project: AIDS, Reproductive Health, and Child Survival (N-MARC) which is a USAID private sector programme, at Hotel Royal Singi on August 6.
The short film competition with the theme ‘You Are No Exception’ will have eight upcoming filmmakers working along with an established actor in the films that they will be directing. Each of them will be making 5-7 minute films on the theme given.
The competition is being organised with the intention of educating audiences about HIV/AIDS and to promote the use of condoms. To mark the official launch of the starting of the making of the films, the first take for a short film was also canned.
Once the films are completed, they will be screened in around 150 cinema halls around the country, tours by the artistes and special screenings will also be held along with an awards ceremony.
