Golf for a cause

The Regional Rotarian Fellowship Tournament is a different type of golf tournament. To be held on May 15, it aims to provide both fun and competition and also support a cause. It is being organised by the Rotary Club of Kastamandap at the picturesque, Gleneagles designed, 18 holes, par 72, international standard Le Meridien Kathmandu Gokarna Forest Golf Resort.

The tournament will see a gathering of regional Rotarians from SAARC nations and non-Rotarian local golfers. Rotarian golfers of this region have decided to initiate a tournament in their own region. The organisers hope to expand this tournament to the Asian level by next year and go international in the near future. The organisers also aim to boost golf tourism in Nepal, and also place Nepal on the regional golfing map. The goal of the event is to support burn cases at the Bir Hospital and the orphanage at Bhaisipati. The event also appeals to non-golfers to come up to the venue along with family and friends, to relax and enjoy the fresh air, sunshine, and lush surroundings, and participate in fun events based around the theme of golf. To top it off, there are exciting prizes to be won.
