Goodall coming

KATHMANDU: We enjoy the antics of our primate cousins. And most of the time we associate bananas with chimpanzees. But in 1960, a scientist discovered that chimpanzees are meat eaters challenging the orthodox theory that chimpanzees are vegetarians. The person who made that thrilling discovery, Jane Goodall, will be coming Nepal for the first time on November 28. The event being organised by Roots and Shoots Nepal has a number of programmes planned. Events have been planned for school students, environmentalists, scientists and conservationists. Goodall, who was also named UN Messenger of Peace, will be visiting a number of sites too like the brick kilns, getting information on Bagmati cleanup campaign among other things.
