Having a Celeb dad
Kathmandu:
Father’s are always fun to be with and saves you from your mother’s scolding. As a celebration of the Father’s day we talked with the kids of three celebrities who shed some light on the life their father shares with them.
cool dad:
While his son is full of energy and speaks before thinking his daughter seems to be far more mature and sensible for her age. Ten-year-old Bhupeshwor (Bhush) and 11 year old Yashaswi, Yogeshwor Amatya’s children think that their dad is great, everything about him is just great.
Bhush thinks his dad is a real hero when he screams at people when they park their car on the wrong side and drive haphazardly. “I think he looks really cool when he wears his shades, it makes him look like a rock star,” says Bhush. As for Yashashwi it was when she was a young kid and her dad used to show his muscular arms that she was awed and thought that her dad was ‘really really strong’.
Both agree that their dad always listens to them. And the best part is the jokes they share with each other. “My dad tells me jokes everyday,” says Bhush. Besides these conversations, they enjoy playing games with him, “Specially when the lights are out we play board games, he also plays football and basketball with us,” says Yashashwi. And they love the delicious Chinese fried rice he prepares which is on very rare occasions.
Yashashwi is happy that her dad is a singer. Talking about a favourite song of his both say its, ‘Ma mare pani mero desh baanchi rahos’ and his daughter proudly adds, “My dad received a gold medal for that song.” But Bhush thinks that if not a singer his dad should have been a ‘Rapper cum footballer’.
But like most other children they also have done their share of mischief and have been scolded for it. “Once the door of our room was locked and I bashed it and there was this big hole in it and my dad got angry with me,” says Bhush.
But they love their daddy all the same and on this Father’s Day Yashaswi says, “I love you, dad and a very happy father’s day.” And his cool son says, “Happy father’s day, keep cool.”
handsome dad:
Bibhusha is a nine-year-old shy girl with a sweet innocent face. Her younger brother Arzav is cheerful and looks like he would promptly smile at any given time. Their father Bhusan Dahal is busy most of the time, so they just love it when he comes home early from work and spends time with them.
They think their dad is very handsome, and when asked to compare with Hrithik, Bibhusha says, “My dad is even more handsome than Hrithik or any other hero.” And they both agree that their father is the strongest, “He can carry us both at once on his shoulders,” explains Arzav.
Bibhusha likes it when her friends ask for her dad’s autographs. “My friends give me their notebooks and I bring it home and my dad gives his autographs,” she says. And of the many music videos that he has made, “I like Chayangba the best,” she says. For Arzav more than the videos it’s the excitement of being on the sets, “I remember my dad saying ‘action’ and I also said it with him.” The long drives and the holidays they’ve had are something they really cherish. “When we went to Pokhara, we went boating and we also gave bread to the fish there,” says Arzav.
Arzav confesses that he really enjoys going shopping with his dad. “My dad buys many toys for me,” he says. Besides that they like going for movies and for swimming with their dad. “My father gave me a Barbie on my birthday, and that is the best present.” says Bibhusha.
He does scold them when they distract him while working, “He also scolds us when we make noise when he is talking on the mobile or watching the news,” says Bibhusha.
On this Father’s Day they will be making special cards for him and both of them have the same message, “I love you, I love you very much, happy father’s day.”
perfect daddy:
I wish my father had super sonic power that way he could blast ears of thieves,” says Samuel Rumba Lama, son of Nima Rumba. A big fan of animated series’ like Pokémon and Dragon Ball, Samuel like any nine years old wants his father to be a super hero. “He is a hero for me, once when I was a kid he saved me from drowning in a swimming pool and he always saves me from my mom’s scolding,” Samuel reveals excitedly.
So how does he enjoy his days with his father? “He usually watches cartoons with me and he even recognises the characters. But he does not like me disturbing him while he is watching news and movies,” he says. Meanwhile, Samuel’s 18 months old brother Norgin zooms in and out of the room. Though he is very young to talk he babbles what he has learned and chuckles in between. “Baba always helps me with my homework, I like it when he teaches me Nepali,” says Samuel. Samuel proudly admits that when his mother is not around his father gets him ready for school. “ He irons my clothes and drops and picks me from school. He always comes for all school events,” he says.
He hardly goes to concerts with his father but he clearly remembers going to two Award functions, and both the times his father won an award. “I feel shy when he sings, my friends always tease me. I wish he was an author so he would write lots of adventurous books for children,” says Samuel, who too wants to be an author in future. Samuel also reveals a big secret that his father is a very good cook, “he makes very good Korean noodles he cooks delicious chicken.” His fondest memories with his father were when they went for a holiday to Hong Kong and India. He remembers going to Ocean Park in Hong Kong. “Baba always gets me whatever I want but I have to study well. I like it when he makes me laugh. But I feel scared when he scolds me, once I broke a vase and he scolded me, I cried a lot,” says Samuel. This Father’s day Samuel would like to say ‘Happy Father’s Day and Best Wishes’ to his father.
